So started V Parts 1 & 2. Production started in Los Angeles in 1983. It was quickly followed by V - The Final Battle, Parts 3, 4 & 5. In 1984, production started on V - The Series. 18 episodes later the series was cancelled. A script exists for episode 19, that was never filmed. Although not well accepted at the time, the series has gathered a cult following in the ensuing years. After the world wide release of the movie 'Independance Day', there was a renewed interest in this series.

A group of V fans are now trying to bring back V. For information or to help, join the Bring Back V Egroup.
It has long been a question as to what the "V" stood for. Most of the media will report that V stood for Visitor. However, many of the fans that I have spoken too, have the same opinion on this as I do. During V (the original mini series) Abraham Bernstein comes across some youths spray painting Visitor posters. He tells the children they are doing it wrong, then proceeds to help spray a V over the poster. He explains that during World War 2, the resistance would spray Nazi posters with the V to represent Victory. As the V that Abraham sprays, is the V we see in the titles, it must be assumed that this is what the V is meant to stand for. Of course, if anyone can prove my fellow fans and I wrong, we would love to know about it.
