The Ceremony

The 1st of July 2000.
Dawned as a beautiful day,
and promised to continue that way.

The day was gorgeous
the dresses looked lovely,
the groom devine,
the garden was blooming
the breeze was light
the food was tasty.

Although this ceremony was not legal,
we did exchange some vows.
These vows were adapted from a
Wiccan Handfast Ceremony
that our friends Tammy and David had.
Thank you Tammy and David for allowing us
to use parts of your vows for ours.

The Vows

Reverend Mayo

"As friends and family of William & Lynne,
I welcome you here today
to celebrate as William & Lynne
commit themselves unto each other.
For that which is truly eternal
is a binding of life & love.
It is more than just flesh to flesh,
it is of mind to mind, feeling to feeling,
soul to soul, in this world and the next.

These two who are joined in love,
have the desire to make their bond a matter of record,
so that all the world in which they live may witness it.

William & Lynne now have something to say to each other."

William

"I William, do promise to keep you Lynne
first in my heart and soul.
To share my days and nights with you.
To share the good things of life along side of the bad.

It will take a lifetime to express my love for you
and it starts today.
I knew I loved you before I met you
and there has never been a doubt.
This is right, this is what I want, you are my soul mate.

From this moment on, we are one heart, one soul."

Lynne

"I Lynne, do promise to keep you William
first in my heart and soul.
To share my days and nights with you.
To share the good things of life, along side the bad.

I can never express to you
what a difference you have made in my life.
You have brought me from a world of self doubt,
to a world of self triumph.
Each day with you brings a new discovery
about myself or the world around me.
You have brought joy back into my life.

From this moment on, we are one heart, one soul."

Reverend Mayo

"Above you are the stars, below you are the stones,
as time passes, remember, like stones should your love be firm.
Like a star should your love be constant.
Let the powers of your mind guide you in your commitment.
Let strength of your wills bind you together.
Let the power of love and desire make you happy
and the strenghth of your dedication make you inseperable.
Be close, but not too close.
Have patience with one another,
free in giving affection and warmth.
Ever love, help and respect each other.

As a sign of what you have said each to the other,
as you commit yourselves to each other.
I bid you now, exchange a kiss."

*We then walked off and signed a Premarriage Certificate,
and then photos were taken.*
