Sripriya, began her training in Bharathanatyam at the tender age of 10 under the tutelage of her guru Smt Shobana Bhalchandra (youngest of the Trio sisters). From then on she has perceived dance with great zest and devotion, and has won many prizes in both dance and mucic competitions. She has taken part in all of the accredited group productions of the Trio sisters and performed extensively in various sabhas all over India.She has also had rare opportunities to perform in dance festivals like chidambaram and perur.
Apart from performing, she has also been assisting her gurus in choreography and teaching. She has been actively involved in adapting dance for the electronic media. She has danced and choreographed for documentary films,TV productions and commercial films highligting the classical aspects of this art form and our Indian cultural heritage.
Priya is an accomplished teacher,assisting the Trio in their institution Thrayee at coimbatore and chennai, has trained many students to performing standards. She is versatile in classical Carnatic Music, Dance theory and Nattuvangam.She excels in academics as well with a degree in Mathematics and is a qualified Cinematographer from the Film and TV Institute of Tamilnadu, chennai.
With over 15 years of learning,performing and 10 years of teaching experiences, priya's diverse skills are well groomed. Her keen interest, dedication, natural abilities and amiable disposition have enabled her to achieve success in her wide ranging activities.
