I am looking for articles on airbrushing that I can present to my High School students in an Airbrush Techniques class. Any suggestions that are web-based would be helpful. I already have a classroom subscription to Airbrush Action, I'm just looking for
lternatives. Thanks!

So you are in Belgium eh?
well, you are lucky becasue Airbrush Art + Action magazine is published in four languages including Dutch! In fact, the editor in Cheif lives in Antwerpen Belgie!!!!
you can email AA+A in Germany where it is actually published for subscription info but you shouldn't have a problem finding this publication in your area.

Wow, it's cool to see airbrush magazine history kinda all layed out for easy viewing. I read many of the postings on the message board... some exited - many seem disillusioned by the future of life as an "airhead" - I am not. Magazines come and go. Inform
tion, tools and supplies are everywhere. This was not always the case. I remember having to mix tube acrylics (and shake 'em and strain 'em forever) so they could be sprayed. Technology seems to have changed the artists' outlook on the future of the airbr
sh artist. But there is one I feel fairly sure of... people still want ORIGINAL work, fine art, custom paint. They still want things created with your hands - just for them kinda things. I believe that they will want original art even more as trends in te
hnology move them closer to only being able to get what everyone else has. I may be wrong... but I choose to paint anyway and people seem to buy the stuff, so...
Thanks for sharing the history of the airbrush - it has changed my life - keep it up.
- - p.s. I wonder if all the traditional paintbrush guys are worried - I don't think so.

Hey Audrie,
Thanks for your post. I feel as you do about the direction these magazines have gone. You may want to look for Airbrush Art + Action at your local book store. They publish in four languages and feature mostly fine arts and high end illustration, mostly fr
m the European scene. They now have an American co-publisher and distributor so a good portion of the magazine features automotive art. They have included many artists in the past that use the airbrush in their personal expressive work.
I'm surprised there are still airbrush publications and that there is more than one today. They still have the same financial and political problems that plagued the old mags of the early eighties. Airbrush Digest never really could fly because advertiser
were far and few between and printing and distribution costs are outragious.
From time to time the Artist's magazine will include articles on airbrush technique but I think they lack contributors.
Thanks again for your posting....there are many artists that feel the same as you.
sincerely,
Edward

Your archives has dregged up memories. I am an Airbrush artist. I paint on canvas.
I started out with Urban's AirBrush Digest. I have them all. (I got sucked into their 'Lifetime Membership'. Some life!). When Urban tried again that next year he sent me his 1st 2 (and last) issues of Airbrush Techniques, after that I never heard from
im again.
I Subscribed to Airbrush Action for many years until I just got sick of all industrial articles (you know, T-shirts, cars, license plates). It's realy too bad Airbrush Digest went under, it surpassed Airbrush Action in that they featured many Fine arti
ts and their paintings.
I don't know about any of the other Mags. you show here, but by the looks of their cover it's the same SOS.
Now I'm not knocking all you out there trying to make a buck by going commercial. I know it's dog-eat-dog. It's just that us artist, who are useing this tool to express ourselves have been squeezed out of the magazines. I guess we're a dying breed, sorr
Audrie.
