Porcelain Dolls
by Polka Dot
Dorothy felt a new explosion rip through the Libra. The Gundams were tearing it up, trying to save the Earth.
You're mothers' child
But night lays you down
Hair aflame, wild look in your eye
Naked belly to the ground
'I should leave,' she thought, 'if I want to live.' She picked her head up and looked around the mobile dolls' control room. Empty now. Desolate, a broken toy. A thousand broken dolls floating in space, and one left alone on a once magnificient ship. A ship being gutted. A ribbon of blood danced in front of her eyes. Left behind by the arabian boy whom she had lost to. Lost the duel, lost the space battle, lost the war. And he didn't even want to fight her.
A forest fire
Nibbles at your veins
runs aways with your mind
And burns dry thoughts like leaves
"Coward!" She yelled into the void. But he isn't, wasn't.
Amen
Eyes stare up but something's in the way
In the Bible only angels have wings
And the rest must wait to be saved
She had lost and wasn't dead. Milliardo and Treize were dead. She placed a single white rose on the earth of their graves. They were pure to her. She understood them. Their actions, their motives. Now that they were gone there was no one left to understand her. She wore a white dress the day Noin came. She had smiled and they had chatted. Noin didn't think Milliardo Peacecraft was dead. She wondered if she should hope. Hope killed. People fought because they had hope. She imagined herself hopeless.
A dry tongue
Screams at the sky
But the wind just breathes words in
As a strange bird tries to fly
Amen
She watched the dove of peace. She had always known that Relena would be the true victor of the battle. She spoke of her love of the people, her desire for compassion. Bringing the earth and the colonies together. But weren't the colonies floating up where heaven was supposed to be. Or maybe they're just blocking the way to it. And Relena rose above them all, floated on her dove wings, a symbol of peace with a princess' face and hands so white and clean. Heero's gundam had wings like that now.
Pieces of us die everyday
As though our flesh were hell
Such injustice as children we are told
That from God we fell.
She knew Treize wouldn't give up so easily. Death was just another cage to claw your way out of. She looked upon the new Kushrenada, with red hair and freckles. She felt relieved. Her body tingled, perhaps there would be another battle. But first they would have to retrieve the Gundams. They had been sent into the sun, so that if anybody even tried to look upon the weapons of peace, they would go blind.
Where are my angels?
Where's my golden one?
Where's my hope
now that my heros have gone?
Some are being beaten
Some are being born
And some can't tell
the difference anymore
Relena's light was shining again. Exposing all the dark thoughts within her soul. Lighting up the corners of Dorothy's mind. She wasn't really a dove of peace. She was more like a white panther. She was fierce in her loyalty to her cause, to her hero.' What were you thinking when your white knight came riding in on his giant fighting machine to rescue you? Were you thinking of the irony of it all? Were you thinking about how big of a hypocrite you were to be saved by a man with so much blood on his hands?'
Amen
'It's not over yet.'
Hallelujah
'My hair is tangled, my arm sockets hang empty and my eyes won't close. But you're just a doll like me Miss Relena, and I'll find a way to break you.'
Hallelujah
