MY CURRENT OBSESSIONS
(Can you blame me?)
John Crichton
a.k.a. Ben Browder
Indiana Jones
a.k.a. Harrison Ford
I started watching the TV series Farscape on DVD at the suggestion of a friend from work. By the end of the 1st season of DVDs I was hooked! I couldn't wait for my friend to lend me the next season.

The same friend had previously suggested I watch Firefly & then see the movie Serenity when it came out. I got hooked on both ill-fated TV series!!!

Both series had awesome stories & fantastic lead actors! They pulled me into every story & scene.

Farscape was a story about an astronaut, John Crichton, who got sucked into a wormhole & lost in space.

John Crichton runs smack in the middle of a space battle. He lands on a ship with escaped prisoners that are trying to get away from their captors.

Kinda "Lost in Space" meets "Buck Rogers".
But, no one in LIS or Buck looked like this in leather!!
My Heroes wear Fedoras!!
I can't tell you how many times I have seen Raiders of the Lost Ark. It is well over 150 times. I first say Raiders at the Fox Theater in Peoria, IL. I had gone to the Book Emporium to buy the Raiders book. I had become obsessed with everything that Harrison Ford had been in & this was just the next thing for me to see. I received a coupon to see the movie for free just for buying the book. My dad took me along with 2 of my cousins & my little brother. I was 12 or 13 at the time. A very impressionable age for a girl.

I was hooked. I went to any other theater that had Raiders playing that I could get to. Back then it played in the theater for months! I was in heaven.

It took several years for it to come out on video. I also have a copy in laser disc my parents had gotten me for Christmas one year. I now have the DVD box set.

My dad worked at a local television studio and was able to get me even more behind the scene footage than is not included in the box set.

I think a lot of the appeal for me is Harrison's sense of humor peppered throughout the 4 movies and the unending adventures he finds himself in. He always has to figure out how to get out of trouble.

I have taken time off of work for the premiere of the 4th Indiana Jones movie. Although, I am not happy with the title. I don't know (nor do I want to know) the plot of this latest movie but, I have found that the 1st and 3rd movie had the best appeal because they touched on a legend that all of us are familiar with.

Another treat for this indy fan is that Mr. Ford is a member of a club that I am a member of. I will get to meet him for the second time  in person this summer at a fund raising banquet! Yes! Little ole me & Indy.......Wow!

I pray that I will have something good to say to him about the new movie after the 19 year wait..
