Imagine saving the life of a suicide jumper, witnessing the shooting of a cop, rescuing a woman from a blazing inferno, tracking down a killer and finding a suitcase full of money. That's a typical day in the life of photojournalist Chance Harper, a victim of coincidence, fate, bad timing or just plain Strange Luck. Chance, played by film star D.B. Sweeney, was the sole survivor of a plane crash when he was a small child. Now he seems to be the right man in the wrong place at all times. He doesn't understand why he has been blessed (or cursed) by fate, but he can't bring himself to turn his back on these strange occurrences, even when they cause him bodily injury or make him guilty by association. Helping Chance to make sense of his strange luck are two women willing to lend an attractive ear -- his photo editor and ex-girlfriend, Audrey Westin, played by Pamela Gidley, and his favorite coffee shop waitress, Angie, played by Frances Fisher. Chance had grown up believing that his entire family died in the tragic plane crash. However, while working with criminal psychiatrist Dr. Richter, played by Cynthia Martells, he discovers that he may have a living brother, setting Chance on a search for his own identity.
