Country music star and theme-park proprietor Dolly Parton is
stretching her musical wings with the help of Christopher Ciccone.
Video director and brother of Madonna, Ciccone will direct Parton
in her first-ever dance video of a restyled dance club mix of Cat
Stevens's classic "Peace Train."

January 22, 1997
Dolly Parton is disbanding her fan club. The bewigged country star
is also refunding the annual membership dues of "The Dolly
Ambassadors," which had been used for various charitable causes.
In a letter to club members, Dolly wrote, "It had always bothered me
to profit from your devotion. . . . Many of you are donating your
hard-earned money because you care for me . . . not because you
believed in the programs of my foundation."

present for the zany festivities.

Dolly attends the dual Carrie Fisher/Penny Marshall birthday bash
at Fisher's Beverly Hills home.

September 24, 1996
Dolly's new release, Treasures, hits stores today--the album
features assistance from John Popper of Blues Traveler, David
Hidalgo of Los Lobos, and Ladysmith Black Mombazo. Mr.
Showbiz gives it a rating of 66.

Dolly performs tonight at the 30th Country Music Association
Awards in Nashville.
