B.D.D.: Body Dysmorphic Disorder This condition has only recently been taken seriously. It is not a question of vanity or psychosis. People who look in the mirror and see only ugliness need understanding, support and treatment. Since this can start at very early ages, it is important to be informed on this condition. Education Do children learn anything useful in school? Here in Southern Ontario, they learn about drugs, weapons, and how to survive in gangs. The teaching staff is hampered by excessive red tape, lack of support, and (as in many places around the world) excessive loss of funding. It's time to cut the crap and ensure that our children receive appropriate education for the real world. Get involved. Consider Home schooling if other means fail.

Feng Shui Lots of controversy around this subject. The idea is that energy should flow through one's surroundings in a way that encourages prosperity and health, while discouraging unpleasantness. After some basic study of feng shui, I believe the cookie-cutter approach is a rip-off set up to take money from those who hear about a good idea and want it done yesterday. Feng Shui takes time to learn and time to apply.
Fibromyalgia Sometimes falls under Arthritis organizations. There's info from the UK. Someone else lives with fibromyalgia and has compiled great info.

Home Schooling Some people feel that children belong in schools because taxes are paid to put them there. Some people believe children belong in schools for the social interaction. Some people view school as a convenient babysitter. If you don't fall into any of these categories, and you are concerned about your children's future, consider the home schooling option. The extra effort may be worth it for your future as well as your children's. Contact me for further information.

I.B.S. Irritable Bowel Syndrome often accompanies FMS and Chronic Fatigue. IBS also occurs on its own. North American culture doesn't seem to be comfortable with the concept of bowel problems, yet many of us suffer from them in various forms. The Canadian IBS Self Help Group is a great starting point. Similar in many aspects to IBS, Crohn's and Colitis should be considered in some cases; also see Qurly Joe on these conditions
Invisible Disabilities It is my belief that we all have some form of disability; some are merely more obvious than others. People often tell me how healthy I look, and indeed it is probably hard to believe that someone who seems complete on the outside can be experiencing so many internal problems. In recent years I have learned that I am dyslexic and possibly attention deficit. I have panic attacks. If you have an invisible disability that I have not covered, please contact me with information. I will try to provide links on topics brought to my attention.

Laws Senseless laws are everywhere. Some are downright frightening. Have you heard of impending legislation to make it impossible to buy vitamins without a doctor's prescription? If the country in which you live is a member of the United Nations, you are at risk. The UN has passed a motion which requires all members of the UN to restrict the purchase of natural health supplements to those prescribed by doctors. Please visit http://www.naturallink.com/cchf for details on the future of natural health supplements, and take action! / For those of the age of consent, Canadian NORML gives an informed look at what's wrong with plans to fight drug use, and provides reasonable alternatives.

Sleep Disorders Our sleeping hours are filled with them. Something as common as snoring can be sleep apnea, which is potentially life-threatening. Outside factors can affect us, such as barking dogs or babies who need nightly feedings. Some of us recover quickly from these interruptions. Some of us need extra help to get back on track. Some of us have sleep disorders without any apparent triggers. If you wake feeling as if you haven't slept, if you regularly require more than 15 minutes to fall asleep at the end of your day, or if you are concerned about your sleep patterns, please contact your doctor immediately.
