The DENCATS Forum has its own ONLINE JOURNAL OF CARDIOTHORACIC SURGERY - The Crucible - which publishes articles on a variety of topics related to cardiac and thoracic surgery in the developing countries.
The articles may be in the nature of original work (experimental or clinical), collective reviews, brief reports of topical interest, guidelines for procedures, or case reports. Letters and comments concerning other manuscripts posted in the journal may also be submitted, and will be displayed adjacent to the original article.
The advantages in submitting your work to the DENCATS Forum are the instantaneous EXPOSURE to the cardiothoracic surgical community ALL OVER THE WORLD in an easy manner. The emphasis here will be on interesting content and useful information. The guidelines recommended are just that - GUIDELINES ! Follow them as far as possible, but use your imagination and discretion as well.
The DENCATS Forum is very informal in its requirements for manuscript submission. The following summarizes the minimal information required before your paper can be considered for publication.
The full name, institutional affiliation, phone, fax and email and postal address of the primary author
An English version of the manuscript
An online permission form completed by the primary author (or their representative) and submitted to DENCATS Forum authorizing posting, and releasing the DENCATS Forum from liability for potential conflicts
A printable authorization form signed by all the authors to be mailed to the DENCATS Forum within 30 days of submission. A template for this form is available which you can print from your browser.
Recommended sections to be included in a submission are:
You may compose all the text using any standard word processor. Separate the different sections of the manuscript (Title, Abstract, etc.) simply by starting a new paragraph, and beginning the paragraph with the section title. Type the entire paper "single spaced". If there is any text you wish to have EMPHASIZED , enclose it within "asterix" (*) marks *LIKE THIS* While formatting the manuscript for the World Wide Web (WWW), we will use different fonts and text types to highlight the enclosed text.
When you cite a published reference within your article, enclose the FIRST author's LAST NAME followed by the YEAR of publication within SQUARE BRACKETS. In case of multiple citations, order them alphabetically, separated by commas.
For instance,
".....according to some sources [Joshi 1994, Miller 1995, Rasheed 1993],...."
The reference list should be compiled in ALPHABETICAL ORDER (NOT in the order in which the reference was cited in your article) starting with the last name of the first author of that reference, followed by the initials. If there are more than six authors, you may list the remaining as "et al"

The simplest way to send manuscripts to the DENCATS Forum is by including the entire text into the body of an e-mail message. The manuscript can be composed offline using any conventional word processor. It can then be pasted into the body of an e-mail message. If an article is large, then several e-mails may be required to send it all. All manuscripts should be addressed to
