We who have survived
must grow beyond survival,
first to dream of healing
and of being healed,
then beyond the dream.
We owe a duty to ourselves
and to the world we live in
to take the steps necessary to be whole.
We pray this is the day when all survivers
have awakened to a knowledge of healing.

ALSO - We love chat and
you might, too. Get an IRC program here,
be sure you have unlimited access time to the Web, and CAUTIOUSLY check
out the available support groups on IRC. Be aware, though, that even chat
rooms with the best intentions are not always filled with individuals with
the best intentions, and even the best intentioned individuals are not
there to offer therapy. I have met many wonderful people online and formed
some extremely close true friendships as well. Various channels, though,
have differing rules, and if you are triggered by seeing others' verbalizing
their anger and pain; or by being asked to refrain from discussing such
topics, 'spoiler' all potentially triggering words and censoring your thoughts
before speaking, you will definitely have a difficult time negotiating
the DID support channels I've seen. There is the potential for great support
and friendship on IRC but there is also the potential for constant triggering
in support channels. There are predators on IRC who specifically come to
support channels to harrass abuse survivors; and ignorant singletons who
come to DID support channels to challenge the reality of dissociative disorders.
Sigh. :-\ Be careful.
If you do get IRC, there's help out there to use it!!
