The headline of the article Human Rights Panel Voices Concern Over Circumcision (Jan. 17) is misleading. What the commission has done is to reflect recent medical research from the Canadian Pediatric Society that shows that male circumcision is generally not medically indicated. This is a far cry from expressing a concern about male circumcision as a human rights issue. The commission has not taken a position against male circumcision.
