In this first part, I ask you what you really are going to use your computer for, discuss some uses of computers, and give some non-computer options which may be easier, less expensive, and more practical for some people.

I discuss in " lay man's terms" some of the options, like hard drives and memory, and what you should get.
• "So You Want a New Computer," Part Three: In this third installment, I consider the issue of where to buy a computer, considering different kinds of places; also, I discuss brand names of computers. Finally, I talk about support for computers, including extended support contracts.
• "So You Want a New Computer," Part Four: In this part, I assume you've bought your PC. I now discuss how your PC connects to the Internet, how to choose an Internet Service Provider, and how to use the Internet responsibly and avoid spreading damaging rumors via Email.
• "So You Want a New Computer," Part Five: Protect your new computer by purchasing a virus scanner and performing regular backups. I discuss how viruses work, how to protect yourself, and how to make simple backups of your most important files.
• "About Free Will": My thoughts on the great mystery of Free Will. Every human being has free will; that is, he/she can believe what he/she wants and can do what he/she wants. For example, no one is forcing me to be good; I do it by my own choice. And yet God, who created and who maintains the universe, is said to control absolutely everything; that is, nothing happens outside of his will. Does that mean we human beings are just robots? There is an apparent contradiction. In this document, I give a glimpse of how both points of view could be true without conflict.
