The Dorsal Fin bait and tackle store is well known to Adelaide's fishing club anglers as well as regular northern suburbs anglers who respect quality bait and tackle as well as friendly service from a team of "experts". The store's current proprietor, Mike Stanley, has been at the "Dorsal" for over 20 years. Three years ago he moved the business into the distinctive hexagonal shape building with the "funny" roof at 13 Diagonal Road, Cavan. The shop is open early till late, seven days a week and even on Christmas day - an example of dedication to customers.

The Dorsal Fin's bait and berley supply is well described as extensive, including many varied oil's and berley mixtures and a fine pre made, non sticky "secret" recipe that works well. The shop's bait freezer is worth a look as Mike stocks the common baits plus various 'exotics' such as Bonito, snapper heads, clam meat, mullet mix and many more.

Mike stocks many brands of rods, reels and terminal tackle. Lures, line, hooks and sinkers, you name it and the Dorsal Fin probably has it, if not Mike will get it in for you. His custom built rods can also be made into works of art. Mike has crab rakes for sale and you can hire his floating crab tub which has been put on rollers to make your wading through shallow water a breeze. The shop's drink fridge is always well stocked with cool drinks and don't forget the block, crushed or dry ice to keep them, you bait and hopefully your fresh fish cold.
