The Tea Tree Gully Angling Club was founded by a keen group of metropolitan Adelaide fishermen in 1975. Since then it has grown to become a very successful and well respected fishing club. Our members have taken out various honours at club, state and even national level. We are affiliated with the S.A.P.C (South Australian Piscatorial Council) and the A.A.A (Australian Anglers Association). Club members both past and present hold various state record fish captures and some national records to. By joining an angling club near you it is possible to learn a lot of the secrets to fishing in a short space of time.
We meet at the girl guides hall in Whinnen Street, St Agnes. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month.
We fish in lots of areas around the state from the Yorke Peninsula to the South East. We fish the inland waters of the River Murray and it's tributaries as well. So the club caters for both salt and freshwater angling. We mainly fish off the shore, rocks or jetties so you need not own a boat.
Wait a minute. The club asks that to become a member you come and fish on two of the monthly trips to see if you like the club and its activities. After this you may enter your application form and become a member of the club.
Well we cater for anybody and everybody. The TTGAC aims to be a family orientated club and as such we cater for sub juniors right up to the men and women of the club. You can be a highly competitive and versatile "expert" angler or a learn-as-you-go novice angler who has joined for the social aspect and to learn more about the club.
You most certainly can. After joining the club we discuss everything with the members and make sure that the mainstream is happy with the proposal. This may be something from what video we show after a meeting to where we go for our presentation dinner. The TTGAC has its A.G.M every July and you can nominate for a variety of positions. Some of the more prominent positions are President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, Committee Member or a delegate to the AAA or SAPC. So you do get your say.
We ask that only Adelaide or South Australian residents ask for more info since we are an Adelaide based club, although if you are interstate or overseas and over here frequently and are looking to join a club, go for it!
