MY LIFE

Danny's Letters to God
PATIENCE

Dear God,

Wow, do I feel good this morning, sleepy but good! Thanks for another day. Last evening the woman You sent to run my life and I went to watch my grand-nephew quarterback his J.V. football game. My throat is still sore, so I could not yell loud enough to embarrass him. It was fun to do, and I'm going to do it again. We won, but the other team had cuter cheerleaders, oh well. Thanks for making my abstinence so smooth and easy. It is appreciated, and You need to be on the job big time today as we go to visit the baby sister in White House Station, New Jersey. We have our passports in order.

Now I need to ask for special help to handle mother today, as once again I extend my hand to her by bringing her to see her great-grandchildren. Help me to understand why she never did and never will show them any true affection. Thy will, not mine be done. She is a lonely old woman, and the reason I so love the woman You sent to run my life. She is the exact opposite of my mother. I guess my attitude will determine how the day goes, and right now that's pretty good. I feel very close to You this morning and ask that I stay that way all day. Please watch over all of my family, friends, fellow loopies, those who still suffer, and especially those I just don't like at all. Reveal Your will to me and provide the power to carry it out. I hope that I do nothing to make You or anyone else feel badly today, especially ME.

And Why Not?
