Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon unity.

For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority - a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.

The only requirement for OA-Online meeting attendance is the desire to stop eating compulsively.

Each meeting should be autonomous except in matters affecting our other meetings, groups and OA as a whole. Each meeting has its own Trusted Servant leader who works together with the other leaders and Trusted Servants in behalf of all meeting participants.

Each meeting has but one primary purpose - to carry its message to the compulsive overeater who still suffers.

The OA-Online meetings ought never endorse, finance, or lend our name or the OA name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.

OA-Online meetings are fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions. Our Trusted Servant meeting leaders are never paid and volunteer their service. To implement the Seventh Tradition, private donations are encouraged to Overeaters Anonymous and/or to foundations supported by our list server; but we ask that they be kept private.

Overeaters Anonymous and OA-Online meetings should remain forever nonprofessional.

OA and our OA-Online meetings, as such, ought never be organized; but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve. In keeping with this tradition, the Recovery Intergroup was formed and works as a committee in behalf of all our loops and meetings.

Overeaters Anonymous and OA-Online has no opinion on outside issues; hence our names ought never be drawn into public controversy.

Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, films, television, and other public media of communication.

Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all these traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.

The OA-Online meetings provide a safe place to share our ESH regarding recovery from compulsive eating.

Because the OA-Online meetings are OA-oriented and not a general sharing meeting, no crosstalk is permitted. As in a face to face meetings, one-way sharing is encouraged and advice giving, comments, flaming, etc. are not appropriate.

The OA-Online meetings use only OA approved literature, rotates Trusted Servants at regular intervals, and stresses anonymity by using only first names for those who lead the meetings. Those who come to the meetings may choose their screen name as they see fit to protect their anonymity.

The language of OA is spoken here. Flames, attacks and unkind words are not welcome. Those who persist in doing this will be reminded of the guidelines and asked to stop. If necessary, they will be disallowed at the meetings until they can commit to the Trusted Servants of the #Recovery meetings that the guidelines will be followed.

The OA-Online meetings leaders encourage its members to enhance the Twelve Step program of Overeaters Anonymous by working with an individual sponsor, by attending other twelve step meetings, by reading OA literature, journaling, accepting the gift of Abstinence and following the Twelve Traditions of OA in our daily lives.
