IMPORTANT DIET RULES
- If you eat something and no one sees you, it has no calories.
- If you drink diet coke with your dinner, the calories in the 2 Cherry Ripes are cancelled out by the Diet coke.
- When you eat with someone else, the calories don't count if they eat more than you do.
- Foods used for medicinal purposes cannot be included in calorie counts.
Eg. Well known antidrepressants such as chocolate, Sara Lee Cheesecake and Bacon & egg McMuffins.
- Movie related foods do not have additional calories because they are not part of ones personal fuel. They are to be viewed as part of the entire entertainment package. Examples include: Buttered Popcorn, Jaffas, Maltesers and Fantails.
- If you fatten everybody else up you will look much thinner.
- Foods that have the same colour have the same calories; Spinach and Pistachio Ice cream, mushrooms and white chocolate. Lima beans and red Smarties.
Chocolate is to be considered a universal colour and as such may be substituted for any other coloured food.
- Broken pieces of food contain no calories. The process of breakage causes calorie leakage.
Family Services
In October the desk volunteers and some old staff attended a
workshop on Suicide First Aid facilitated by Jane.
They covered the common warning signs for potential suicide victims and practised estimating the suicide risk of various hypothetical clients.
Having done that, they went on to explore ways of averting the immediate crisis, need they be called upon to do so.
Although not a pleasant thought, we all need to be aware that Christmas is a high risk time as there are many people in our community that are not fortunate enough to have friends and family supporting them at this time.
