Hello DMAT Member:

Time is speeding up. Sorry for the delay in getting a newsletter out to each of you. Several events hit rather fast. Our goal has been to get newsletters out quarterly… however after returning from the NDMS Conference we were informed of the State Exercise May 2nd-instead of a newsletter several of us made personal phone calls to each of you to inform you of the Exercise. Now to recap the past several months since your last newsletter was in January.

State Exercise Joint Venture III

Charlotte County Airport May 2, (Saturday) 9-5 Attendance: 20 Thank you team members Set up 3 Western Shelter tents:

1 triage/treatment tent

1 holding tent to transfer out

1 Command/Admin tent

Trailer-Command/Communication

The exercise was managing casualties

resulting from a Weapons of Mass Destruction

(WMD) event. The victims were transferred

between Charlotte Co Airport and MacDill AFB

on a C-130 aircraft. The Dept of Defense and

the 622nd AES were great to work with.

12 of Fl 2 DMAT members were able to

experience a transfer ride (on the C-130) to and from MacDill AFB. Great experience and fun!!!

Media: TV footage shown on Channel 2/7

and WINK. Newspaper articles: Sun Herald

and Charlotte Our Town. Yea!!!
