This means there is a greater possibility that if an event occurs on the East
Coast our team will be deployed.
UNIFORMS-
If you recently joined the team or a current member and need to buy uniforms
there is a limited amount and limited sizes that the team can sell to
you.
Please call Joyce Mason ph 656-0112. Also she handles the patches
for the
uniforms so once you get your uniform please call her.
T SHIRTS
The FL 2 DMAT T- shirts can be ordered from Barb Goodwin ph
481-5706-
Please call her to place your order- (it takes time to get an order processed
so call ASAP.)
DUES;
Don't you get tired of me mentioning this issue with every newsletter? I
do-
but then I wouldn't have to address this issue if team members would pay
their yearly dues of $20.00. It was due in Jan. Part of being a
responsible
team member is to help your team. Although the National Disaster Medical
System provides the teams with equipment they do not provide the day to day
funding that is required to keep this team alive. There are newsletters
that
require stamps, food and drinks for the exercises, booklets, paperwork and
mailouts to process applications, paperwork mailings to keep the team
active
with NDMS, etc. Please support your team and mail your check ASAP
(payable
to FL 2 DMAT) to

Many of the current members and the new members have not rented a pager.
You
may choose any company however, we currently have a Public Health Service
Contract with Metrocall- 11356 S.. Cleveland, Ft
Myers ph 941-332-2337
or 1-800-791-2337. As mentioned during the orientation our call up system

CREDENTIALS AND UPGRADES:
Please remember to keep me updated on all changes that may occur with your
phone and address changes. Also each time your license is renewed you
must
fax or mail me a copy. If you have furthered your education and may be
entitled to an upgrade in the GS scale please call me to discuss the upgrade.
ie- LPN to RN.
NDMS CONFERENCE
April 29- May 3 in Las Vegas. If interested please call me for a
brochure.
RECRUITMENT:
The team is still in need of all DMAT specialties so support your team
and
recruit new members. We lose members due to moving away, changes in work
and
family responsibilities, etc. We have had to augment our team with other
teams in past deployments in order to deploy and NDMS is stopping this
process.
EMS EXPO :
Sat May 27- one day to promote our team in Port Charlotte. Please help
out.
If you can man the booth please contact Julie ph 768-5898. It's a lot of
fun
too- meet the public, promote the team, recruit for the team, come on… you
know you want to do it.
Thanks for being a member of FL 2 DMAT
