NDMS created a schedule alerting teams when they are on call- we are 1st out in the month of October (based upon the geographical location of the disaster). Don't wait until October to pack your bags because we can also be called out prior to Oct.

The 1997 NDMS Conference in Tamps was a big success in the way of networking, retrieving information from the Feds, and excellent classes. There were 6 members of our team attending this year. It was unfortunate that more could not attend since it was in our backdoor- next year will bein Denver, Co.
We were presented a plaque for our participation during the Atlanta Olympics. Kudos'to those who represented the team.
There was a meeting of the nationwide Dmat members who attended the conference and great information was shared (National Association of DMATs) and, kudos for our team as our unit Commander, Gary Lindbergh moved into the 1st chair of the organization.

We will be receiving 10 Motorola JT1000 radios, with accessories in a few weeks from NDMS. Yea...

Four of the members had a PR table at the Charlotte County Hurricane Expo at the Towne Center Mall Sat. 17th10:b0-1700. Noel Holdsworth authored a brochure on CISM and they were available free to the public and they were grabbed up so quickly that approximately 1000 were given out. There will be a Hurricane Expo at the Ft Myers Edison Mall May 31st 10:00-1500 and at the Naples Coastland Center June 28 10:00-1500. Jim Rief, weather man will host the event. MARK YOUR CALENDARS- JUNE 7TH -SATURDAY- 09 00-1500 PRE-HURRICANE/ FAMILY RECOGNITION PARTY AT THE CHARLOTTE COUNTY AIRPORT--TAKE EXIT 28 OFF 1-75. Main Bldg.-Development Authority Conference Room Potluck/picnic so bring plenty of food and drinks. We will supply paper ware. It will be loads of fun- so plan to attend and bring family. Sept. 6TH (S newsletters.(SAT) Exercise- Full Scale training event-more to come in future

Dec. 5, 6, 7th (Fri-Sat-Sun) will be the annual State Exercise. Place to be announced when more information is received from the State. So please start working on getting those dates free- a great experience.
