Oscar was found by one of our ambulance crews when he was a tiny kitten, someone had hurt him and as a result he is blind, but, Oscar knows his way around the station perfectly (only if and when the furniture is not moved), now he is nearly 2 years old and he is the real "boss" of the Sotogrande station.

Oscar fue encontrado por socorristas de la base de Sotogrande en la puerta de un ambulatorio, alguien lo habia maltratado haciendole un daño irreparable en sus ojos, y a pesar de que es ciego, se pasea por toda la base sin problemas (siempre y cuando no muevan los muebles), Oscar es el verdadero jefe de la base.

It is with deep regret that we must inform that Oscar passed away victim of cancer on the 12th of March 2002 at 14.30 hours, he passed away in peace sorrounded by all those who he loved and that love him dearly. He will be missed and he will forever live in our memory and in our hearts.

Es con gran pesar que debemos anunciar que Osacr murio victima de un Cancer el dia 12 de Marzo del 2002 a las 14.30 horas. Murio en paz y rodeado de todos aquellos que el queria y que lo queremos. Lo echaremos mucho de menos y para siempre vivira en nuestras memorias y en nuestro corazones

The Cadiz (Sotogrande) DYA was founded in 1994, and it was founded because up to then there was not a proper ambulance service in the area, ambulaces took over one hour to arrive at the scene of an accident, and when they did arrive, there was only a driver on board who was not trained and had no equipments to treat an injured person

Since it was created this station has saved many lives, and cared for patients not only caused by traffic accidents, it has provided an invaluable service to the Polo Club, the Rugby club, the Golf Clubs and to all the towns on the area.

This station was created thanks to the generosity of a few persons that decided to put an end to the situation, all materials used were financed by this little group of persons, and we would like to thank our President Charles Miriel and Vice-President Charles Cruz for all what they have done to make the Cadiz DYA be an example to all those who really care about others.

Cadiz DYA is FAST, EFFICIENT, PROFESSIONAL and above all HUMANE

The Cadiz DYA will soon extend their services to all the province of Cadiz,and will open a station in every town or area where there is no ambulance service available

Another project of Cadiz DYA is to send their field hospital to any areas in need of Emergency Medical Services, either in Spain or abroad

Cadiz DYA has decided to dedicate all their new Paeditric ambulances to the memory of Diana and Dodi

These paediatric ambulances will the the first of its type to operate in Spain

It is the great love both Diana and Dodi had for children that has moved us to dedicate these new vehicles to them

New ambulance, still without our livery/Nueva ambulancia, aun sin rotular

DYA de Cadiz ha decidido mandar sus ambulancias y equipos medicos ( desfibriladores, respiradores, etc ) a varios paises de tercer mundo. Esto fue decidido debido a la excelente cobertura en medios medicos y ambulancias que cuenta la zona en la cual la base de la DYA esta situada, en efecto existe en San Enrique un Ambulatorio equipado con los mas modernos medios tecnicos, excelentes medicos y ATS y una muy moderna ambulancia, igualmente el 061 ( emergencias sanitarias ) dispone de une Ambulancia UCI en La linea de la Concepcion la cual tarda muy poco en llegar a la zona. Dya de Cadiz ha decidido poner en servicio vehiculos de rescate y contra incendios los que serviran de apoyo a los medios existentes los cuales se encuentran bastante alejados de la zona de operaciones de la DYA cuya base esta en Sotogrande, no solo prestaran los primeros auxilios a las victimas hasta la llegada de los medios de socorro disponibles, tambien apoyaran a esos medios cuando se vean desbordados por la magnitud o numero de siniestros especialmente los fuegos del verano. El primer vehiculo de Rescate y ContraIncendios de DYA cuenta con algunos de los mas modernos medios tanto para el salvamento como para la lucha contra el fuego, siendo algunos de esos equipos los primeros a estar funcionando en España. Por supuesto esta ayuda continuara siendo TOTALMENTE gratuita y altruista.

Now we do have a problem, after the male components of the Cadiz DYA saw the picture of Kathy, a Minnesota EMT, they all want to go to Minnesota for further training
