Hello, my name is Aquinas and I'd like to welcome you to this site. I, like 25 million other Americans, suffer from Depression. I have been diagnosed with Severe Major Depressive Disorder and struggle with it every day. When I found out a few weeks ago that this was what was wrong with me, I went searching on the Internet for information so I could make an informed decision as to what I should do and how I could cope. My full story will be in the Personal Stories section sometime very soon. But in short, I've created this page to try and put the best resources I could find all in one place so maybe I can help others who are struggling with this disease.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill
Info on Nortriptyline (Pamelor, Aventyl)
Since this is the antidepressant that I take, I have some links that have
information that is specifically on Nortriptyline or the tricyclic family.
This area contains links to stories and personal homepages of people who want to share their struggles with depression. If you wish to submit a story or link to your personal story or homepage, please e-mail me at aquinas@usa.net.
Healerguide's Homepage -The Journey into Healing
This site deals with personal recovery and growth for rape survivors. Very good site!
The View from the Inside
This is a really great site....don't miss it!
Newsgroups
The newsgroup alt.support.depression, affectionately known as ASD by those of us who frequent it, is a wonderful place to go for support and advice from those people who are going through depression also. I recommend lurking (that's just reading) posts for awhile to get used the flavor of the group, then jump in whenever you feel comfortable. There are two sub-newsgroups to ASD.
These are newer groups that don't have many postings. But in time, I think they'll be worth reading so keep a close eye on them.
IRC
There are several good channels dealing with depression on the Undernet IRC Network. Below are two of the best:
