Equipment: I went to the local golf shoppe and they told me since I never played before, it would be best to get custom-made clubs. I remember golf in gym class from HS, the clubs were long and heavy. The clubs today are lighter. The pro shoppe set me up with some TaylorMade typeclubs. Really nice. Built for a woman with a flexable shaft so as not to jar my muscles and bones when I hit the ball (or the ground) and hit farther.
Lessons: The lessons are helpful, but you have to practice at home. I'd rather just play.
