Orange Variety
Purple Variety
These two beautiful C. Stephen Anderson cachets feature the traditional medical caduceus and a microscope. Anderson issued its first cachet for the 3c Georgia Bicentennial stamp issued on Feburary 12, 1933. These two Cancer Crusade covers include full plate blocks stamped with the official first day of issue cancellation. The orange and purple varieties shown above are the only versions of which I'm aware. If you know of any others, please drop me a line at smith@in.net.
The text on both cachets is identical and
has been recreated below:

Cancer Crusade The "Crusade Against Cancer" stamp was
issued to publicise the cause of the American Cancer Society and to honor
the many organizations; government agencies, research foundations and their
dedicated doctors, scientists and technicians whose years of patient, painstaking
work have been, and are directed toward the conquest of cancer.
