How to get through the religious/christian aspects of the holidays.

Halloween (Sahaim), a holiday where most of us in the Pagan way relates. We revel in the more off-beat feelings of the Americanized DARK days of October, All Hallows Eve. How do we realize a more meaningful October 31st, a more powerful Autumn Equinox??? Blessed be!

1. Know your beliefs. What does Halloween mean to you? Is it the All Hallows Eve, the echange of scary stories, the realization that there is more out there than meets the eye? Maybe it's the acceptance of being different in the halloween spirit that lifts the spirits of all Wiccan during this time. Witches take care....this is a time when you can truely be yourself! Not shunned or critisized, the Pagan can reveal to others how he/she feels.

2. Remember your ceremonies. The sage, the black candles, the meditation and introspection, all halloween trappings can be used in this one and no one will know the difference. Build on your already favorite ceremonies. Add incantations, remember the spell you wanted to cast but were afraid to. Carve those pumpkins and light them as well. Introduce youth to the fun of the season. Like the music student trying to get to Carnegie hall...you must practice, practice, practice.

3. Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere. With the candles lit and the incense burning, have you forgotten something? What day is it? What cycle is the moon in? What cycle are you in? Where do you live and what are you wearing, feeling?
