"Life's greatest blessing is a new sunrise.
When I see that, I know I am still alive,
and have at least one more day
to make into something special."
~~Barbara Jeanne Fisher
August 1, 2001 - New look for my journal beginning this month. Using the Printshop, I designed two images to use for the particulars I’m adding to my pages. I’ll most likely frolic around and modify items before I get it fixed to the best usage. I already know for certain a few things I want to do and didn’t have time to search for the correct commands needed. For one thing is the color for the quote.
I’ve been collecting quotes several years. I became addicted to them when I decided to use one at the beginning of each month. Before long there were way too many quotes accumulated for the number of months. Now I’ll randomly pick one each day to make use of. To go through and try to chose would be impossible since I like all of them (that’s why I decided to keep them all.) Jen Genie had come to oversee and introduce the excerpts.
The other new ingredient has been run down and roped in by the Pony Express. Many of the other journalese have interesting and different topics to discuss along the way. Treeheart has been my favorite since she first began, and I read her OBSERVATIONS regularly.
As I present a daily jaunt around the Internet visiting other journals, there will be a wide variety of topics and styles. Some of the ideas and thoughts may not be some that I totally agree with, but then each person has feelings and attitudes quite different from my own. In all fairness, others may like and get something from them that I have missed. I am attempting to keep a family-type website and hopefully will not put anything offensive on the Spotlight. If I should happen to, it is purely accidentally and certainly not intended. I must admit that some of the sites, in spite of some harsh, ill-used words are still news-worthy and there for the offering. Again, I don’t agree with ALL the things on journals that will be appearing in the Spotlight.
In checking my own homepage, I was appalled to find a link to a “Less than suitable” site. How it got there, I’ll never know. I didn’t put it there and it was not a URL I used. I think the webcrawler or something picked up on the word I had used to click on and took me to that page. I went into my file and deleted the word and checked to make sure no more surprises were awaiting me or someone else. The word was “banner”; the click of the mouse did not go to the URL I used, but to an entirely different one! Webmasters, beware! Someone with more knowledge than Me, Myself and I had tampered and altered my directions and intent. I intended giving credit to the lady that made my banner for my website. That didn’t happen.
