Who's Who

checking back as we go

Identities:

In reading back through pages of my journal, there is a feeling of confusion about which person is which and who did what. I know myself the distinctions, but to others there would have to be a confusion of, "Now, let me see, which one is that?"

Hopefully, through time, all the names of each individual will be changed throughout the past year and a half to make it easier to relate to each of them in an orderly fashion and know that it is a real person in my life.

Because this is my Journal and not their's, I feel that I should refrain from using any of their Given names. They may not want others to read about them as the real McCoy. In doing this it will also give me an openness that was not always possible in the past.

FAMILY:

I know they are not children to anyone else but I can still call them my children. A baby of the family is a baby forever. I am one. My husband was one. My youngest son is one!

My Late Husband: Daddy G

Child One: Allan

Niece and Nephew of his wife: Billy and Jane

Each of these names mean something special to each of them. I will not explain why or how now, but just to let you know that they were chosen for a reason or an event.

EXTENDED FAMILY:

Mother's sister that was at the same Nursing Home: Lea, who died early in 1999.

Other Aunts: Paula, Mandy and Nell (who died the summer of 2000).
I probably will end up mixing and matching them back and forth so as not to be too indiscrete. I'll never tell actually which one did what.

SPECIAL NOTE:

In memory of two very special persons that made such a lasting impact on my life, I pay tribute to them by using their real life names. Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of their extraordinary Christian influence as mentors to what I am today.

Betty Dula, who died unexpectedly this year. As the pastor remarked in his eulogy, "The Lord said, 'Betty, it is closer to take you to my home than it is for you to drive to your earthly home.'" She is at rest with HIM.

Ossie Setzer lived to the young age of 91. The sister of my father, she spent much of her life dedicated to molding me into what I am today. I was her life, my family was her family; we were as one. We lovingly refer to her as AO.
