The operating room has recieved a lot of attention lately thanks in large part to dramatizations such as ER and Chicago Hope. For those who are interested I have prepared a brief tour to show you some of the places where the cameras of these popular television shows will not go and where most of the population is not allowed to go. (Of course, the argument could be made that the cameras do not go there because it is boring and nobody really wants to go there anyway; never-the-less, here it is.) Since I was a circulator nurse in orthopaedics at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, we will assume that you are an individual with an upcoming elective orthopaedic surgery at Memorial Hospital.
