Personal Information
Thank you for your interest in my web page. My name is Brenton although most people call me Brent. I am a registered nurse and up a few years ago I worked as a circulator in orthopaedic surgery at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Please click here to view my online resume. I also attended Southern Adventist University and I graduated in May 2000 with a BA in biology. Since then I have matriculated to medical school at UT Memphis and I am in the class of 2004. If you are interested in my reasons for going into the challenging field of medicine please read my personal statement.
While school takes up the majority of my time, I do have other interests. In my spare time I enjoy outdoor sports including: snowboarding, sandcourt volleyball, hiking, backpacking, camping, wakeboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, and jet skiing (OK I guess that really isn't an outdoor sport, but it is still a lot of fun!). I also love to sing and I have performed special music and led out in song service for "The 3rd" (a contemporary christian worship service). Beyond that I enjoy art, music, and literature.
I am not alone in my interests. I am married to a wonderful young lady named Nola, who teaches Kindergarten at a private school in Memphis. When I am not studying (which is the majority of the time) I am probably out with Nola. We are currently addicted to Tetris, but we do get out every once in a while to play Tennis, Racquetball, or go out on the town.
I have been a Seventh-day Adventist my entire life and although I have some questions I believe the Adventist church follows biblical principles quite closely. God plays an important role in my life. It seems to me that He has been guiding me in my life choices and I hope that I can continue to listen for His leading.
If you have any questions or comments feel free to send me an E-mail at the address below.
Thanks again for dropping by, Brenton Reading
