We all feel it. That rush of happiness as we smell all the sublime fragrances that are ushered in as a spring arrives. Nature is a wonder to us and always will be. Thanks to all of our ancestors learning what secrets certain oils from plants have, we can now keep these wonders locked in a bottle, to use at will. In the dead of winter, we can take a bath with lavender and rose essential oils & get that same relaxing hypnotic feelings. Through the years people have forgotten these wonders. They started to use chemicals that can build up and become toxic over time. Thank goodness everyone is rediscovering this ancient mood and health invigorating tonic. Essential Oils (EO) are the essences extracted from trees, shrubs, flowers, herbs and grasses. Those very precious oils can be used in a myriad of ways. These oils can help you relax, wake you up, attain higher achievements and put more meaning in your life. These EO's are used to help moods and even help prevent or lessen the syptoms of many diseases by a method called aromatherapy. The quality, quanity and expense of EO's depend on many factors, such as where the plants are grown and even if it needs extracted at morning or at night. The extraction process can help keep the oil potent. The best way to extract them are steam distillation, cold-pressed and carbon dioxide extraction. Any oils that have been extracted by solvent-extracted methods should be avoided, since this type uses harmful chemicals. The more you use these products of FBK, you will notice your more active, happy and healthy. I have synergies of all kinds, so I'm sure we can find one just for you. There has been alot of research done to tell us just what oils to use and the best way to apply them. This therapy is not a "new age" thing. There are many ways to apply aromatherapy to your life. To start with~~~ 1) Mist Spray Bottle~~This is for air fresheners or fumigating after an infectious illness. 2) Aroma Lamp~~The lamp may be made out of marble, glass, ceramic, or porcelain. It has a small container which you fill with water & the water is heated by a candle. Add your synergie and the vapor is dispersed into the air. 3) Baths~~We all know what a bath is, but some tips for getting the best aromatherapy experience is: A~Close windows and doors to prevent oil vapors from escaping. B~Fill the bath with warm/hot water(not to hot as that will make the EOs disappear faster. C~Always fill tub first before adding the oils, since this also causes the vapors to evaporate faster than normal. D~After tub is full, pour in your synergie and gently swish around with your fingers. E~Now hop in and enjoy for at least 30 minutes---Don't forget the tub may be slippery depending on how much oil you used. 4) Candles~~Handmade aromatherapy candles last longer than store bought, plus ours are triple scented so the aroma lasts. The preferred way is to only burn for 2-3 hours, then extinguish the flame for about 1/2 hour then you can relight. You can just burn without stopping, but it will burn down much quicker than the preferred method. 5) Massage~~This allows the EO's to be absorbed through your skin. I will tell you the best place to use a certain blend and where to massage. 6) Potpourri~~Just leave out in bowl, or wide mouthed jar. With the jar you can close the lid when you leave home, then reopen it upon returning. This helps make it last. |
