ABOUT ME, MY FAMILY, THE PLACE WHERE I LIVE
My name is Pietro, I am only 53 and have been married to Enrica since 1970. We have three children Valerio, Paola, Chiara. Please have a look at my family.
I was born on February 22nd, 1949 and always lived in Sivizzano (Italy) a tiny countryside village along the ancient "Path to Rome" (300 B.C.) at about 20 miles far from Parma, our province chief town.
Parma and its province are well known throughout the world for the Parmesan cheese & ham (prosciutto). Ours is the land of delicious food and, for sure, we don't lack of history, art & lovely, varied scenery. Busseto (Parma) is the birthplace of the great opera musician Giuseppe Verdi.
I have no qualifications but I've worked as a bookkeeper over these last years. I don't complain... I feel myself a sorta self-made man. I've tried so many things and jobs, in my life, with fairly good results... I love all kinds of music, singing, dancing, playing, composing, reading, writing, fishing, above all making friends to people of all ages and walks of life.
My favourites are: Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eagles, W.A.Mozart, F.Chopin, L.Van Beethoven.
I am only an amateur but MUSIC (click here to know more about me) has definitely influenced and accompanied all my life and thoughts... I just can't imagine my life without it... thanks to God, it's always been with me in joyful and sorrowful moments... Oh, I forgot: I am a romantic dreamer!

WHAT I LOOK FOR IN OTHER PEOPLE
I love all people, especially when they are caring and funny. Living in Italy, all I can do with my overseas relatives and friends (U.S.A. & Argentina), at this moment, is talking to them "online" or exchanging letters & emails. Of course, I'd like to meet them all someday and go dancing, partying, fishing, singing, all together... Yes, they are so many and fabulous! I've never been to America so far. A long vacation over there it's my biggest dream. Not that I am short of friends & relatives here in Italy.

THINGS I
LIKE
My favourite writer is Ernest Hemingway. I've seen hundreds of movies of all kinds and liked most of them: from "Gone With The Wind" to "Dead Poets Society". I'm definitely a "nightowl"! I like all seasons but can't stand summertime when the days get too hot & sultry. Whatever place is good for me to hang out, indoors & outdoors, and when the company is good & cheerful & interesting I am never the first to say "Bye".
|
THINGS I DON'T LIKE
I usually don't like aggressive, deceitful and superficial people, however life's taught me some "positive thinking". Actually, I often realise that some of those failings I despise in others are just the same I despise in myself.
"It's not gold all that glitters", they say... and "every medal has its own reverse"... Yes, when I manage to go beyond appearences I happen to find lots of nice & interesting unexpected sides in all people.
By the way, I don't like Chinese food and traffic jams.

OTHER VERY USEFUL AND INTERESTING WEBSITES
GLENN & NORMA - Off to Adventure... My U.S.A. cousins' website. A journey that began in a little town in Petersham, Massachusetts and stretch across the great continental divide all the way to the land where the sun never sets ***ALASKA***, and then beyond. This will be an on-going journey into the freedom Glenn & Norma have attained since retirement. They invite you to be a guest on their travels where they provide you a glimpse into their world as seen through their eyes, and delivered through the lens of their camera!!!
LIDAP ONLUS-Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Agoraphobia
Please have a look at the website I've built myself recently for the Italian Association where I've been voluntarily working for over 8 years. They say it's very interesting and informative.
ANXIETY & PANIC
Wanna know more about these troubles affecting the 25% or more of population, especially girls and women, and spreading everywhere?
ISOLA DELLA SPERANZA
An Italian website where you can find almost all the information (but only in Italian...) you may need about anxiety & panic attacks & depression.

SOME MOST INSPIRING POEMS AND WRITINGS I LOVE AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL
IF...
I bet all of you know this Rudyard Kipling's inspiring poem. R.Kipling (1865-1936) is the author of the famous books "The Jungle Book" & "Captains Courageous".
NO MAN IS AN ISLAND...
Written by John Donne (1573-1631), these verses are reported in the first page of E.Hemingway's book "For Whom The Bell Tolls"... They may sound sad, actually they are not... cause remind us we all are part of the same family: THE MANKIND!
CHERISHED FRIENDS
Some beautiful & heartwarming verses by "Author Unknown"...
QUOTES FOR THE DAY
Some "quotes" by Robert Frost... for a lifetime!...
I WANNA BE...
I guess many of us would like it!
LOOK WHAT WE HAVE...
This "Author Unknown" sounds so wise. Maybe a little pessimistic, but...
SUNSHINE, MUSIC AND... SMILE!
Every now and then I happen to find poems & writings in my mailbox...
TRYING TO FIND OURSELVES...
Only "sincere love & friendship" may turn us into very effective "mirrors" for one another... or we'll never become aware of "who we really are", of hidden "qualities" we'd never imagine to be endowed with, of "flaws" as well. It takes a lifetime time and some "humility", but it's a game worth the candle, provided that we wanna "grow" and be happier
TAKE TIME...
A lovely poem written by a nice & friend o' mine
