Either way, you've GOTTA GET JED!
I first met Jed & Bil Clampit in Jan 2000 during a trip to the Redneck Riviera on the Florida panhandle. They were playing at the Flora-Bama and had invited my friend "Easy" to share the stage with them. I knew that night that there was something special about Jed Clampit's music. The next night, they came over to Easy's place for a cookout after which Jed and Bil did what comes natural for them, they sat around the kitchen table and shared some of Jed's special brand of Front Porch Contemporary Music. From that moment on, I was hooked on Jed's music. When I returned home from that trip, I was inspired to brush the thick layers of dust off my banjo and begin once again to start pickin'. Jed and Bil have visited with us at home on a couple of occasions as they passed through our little town. We'll visit for a while and grill some steak or chicken and have a big meal, then we'll all do what comes natural for folks who love to make and listen to great music - pull out the instruments and pick for a while. I've now begun the task of building my own Gibson Mastertone style banjo and am looking forward to giving it a good breakin' in with Jed and Bil someday.
On his web-site Jed says, "I sing to that part in each of us that is the same-the heart." If you haven't had your heart sung to in a while, you need to get some Jed! You can click on the

where he'll be playing and how to order his music. Jed has released five albums so far with two more on the way - a live album due out any time now, and a Christmas album due for release in the Fall of 2000. You can bet I'll be one of the first in line!
