New Shoes!!!

Went to Lien Hoe in Komtar for new shoes. Salesman shoved me the Reebok Mirimar DMX. Of course, when I was shown the shoe, I didn't know the name. All I know was it was DMX. Has those fancy moving air cushions in the sole. The shoe seemed quite stiff, and I assumed it was a stability shoe at least. So there goes RM 269 for an anonymous Reebok DMX.

Only later when I got back home I did a search on the internet and found that it was a Reebok Miramar DMX. Category is CUSHIONED shoe and not a stability show which I wanted. ACH!!! What the heck, I was wearing a worn out cushioned shoe and look where it got me. Heeheheeehehehe.

Here are some reviews I found on the net. Looks like they're women's shoes. Oh well.

EDITOR'S CHOICE

First impressions of the Miramar DMX6 when you lift the lid of the shoebox are a definite thumbs up. These are smart, stylish trainers that look feminine without being girly (i.e. they're classic white with silver grey and blue detail as opposed to those yucky white and powder pink styles) with just enough brand detail to make them fashionable without being in-your-face logo'ed. Further inspection shows them to be lightweight without feeling flimsy, perfect for pounding away the pounds as it were on the treadmill or along the uneven footpaths of your local park.

So, how did they fare? Despite being a very snug fit (apart from a very wide toe), these trainers were extremely comfortable, moulding perfectly to my feet with each stride. And talk about springy! Reebok rank impact absorption as one of the key attributes of these trainers and they certainly live up to this - pressure on your knees while running felt minimal, and I'm sure I started running faster than normal. Out on the cold and damp streets of north London the grip and traction couldn't have been better, although the following day I nearly went flying on the wet tiles in the ladies changing room at my gym. Hmmm.

The synthetic outer material of these trainers and super-padded mesh overlay ensures a much less sweaty foot too as it allows feet to breathe while maintaining a strong cushioning support. How long this will stay looking in tip-top condition though is anyone's guess.

Overall, a definite winner.

Barely 3 months after I bought it Reebok comes out with a Miramar II. Whatever.

Reebok Miramar II DMX 6

Trainers have take on a technology of their own, and the Miramar II from Reebok is no different. It's got DMX 6 technology in the sole of the trainer. This means that it's got five heel pods and one forefoot pod, which provides what Reebok call the ultimate heel focused moving air cushioning system. All the technology should make whatever you do in the Miramar trainers comfortable, because it's also got ¾ length moving cushioning, impact absorption and stable ride versatile lug!
