Sifu Sean Mazzarella

Hi! I have been practicing and teaching Tai Chi Chuan for 20 years.  From 1989 to 1994 I competed in many tournaments around the country and was very successful.  A big win that I had was at the "Taste of China 1990" where I took a bronze medal.  Since those days I have concentrated on teaching at my own school in Connecticut.  I really enjoy spreading the art to further my own and my students development, and plan to do so for many years to come.

My main hobby is of course Tai Chi. I am a certified instructor under Grandmaster William C.C.Chen of New York City, and I am a student of Dr. Yang Jwing Ming of Boston. I am also a 4th dan in Karate and own a school with my wife. We enjoy freestyle Karate training and teaching.  Other interests that I have are the 128 Yang Long Form, 24 Standard, applications, Sword, Staff, Push Hands, and Free Fighting. I also love to read books on religions and martial arts. I really enjoy blending Christian values and scriptures with Taoism and Tai Chi. I get the same feelings from attending Church services and practicing Tai Chi Chuan.

I am happily married for 12 years and have 4 year old twin girls named Taylor and Lexi.  And I have a son 2 years old named Nicholas.  My wife Suzanne as you can imagine is very busy and is expecting our 4th child! Besides working as a sales rep for a major beverage corporation, my wife and I operate our martial arts school, attend church regularly and volunteer when we can.  We also have many relatives locally that are very close by and supportive to us. And for this we are very thankful.

Most of our friends are students and family from our school.  Instead of a commercial business we like to think of it as a big extended family.  And we have people there just for that reason.  It is a nice feeling.
