First Responders

First Responders are members of the Fire Department that respond to medical emergencies with Emergency Medical Services(EMS). The First Responders take vitals and advice EMS on the situation and condotion of the patient before EMS ever arrives. In order for a fireman to become a first responder, they have to take a first responder course of a medical course higer than the first responder course.

Macon Rural Fire Department went online with the First Responder program in September of 1998. Right now there are only six first responders in the department. There names are listed below:
