I finally finished the first year in the nurse practitioner program. Summer semester was the hardest by far. I took two classes which involved physical examinations, 2-3 weekly case studies and labs. Along with this hectic schedule, I was also a teaching assistant for a pediatric class and had the responsibility of correcting and grading papers as well as attending clinicals with the students. I learned a lot and made very good friends through this marvellous experience. My children moved to Texas with their mother. My heart broke when I found out their intentions. It is so difficult to be here alone in Utah and not see my children. My life is incomplete without them. Luckily, Nathan and Rachel have come to spend the summer with me. Unfortunately, I had to go to school and work which did not give me enough time with them. We will be going to Florida this month to spend time with my parents. I really miss home and my children. Michael swore in for the U.S. Navy. He is in the "delayed entry program" which means he is in the Navy now, but as soon as he finishes high school, he will be reporting for active duty. He will be fueling airplanes on an aircraft carrier....MY WORST NIGHTMARE. |
