Combine sea salt, epsom salt and baking soda in a glass or ceramic bowl.
Drizzle almond oil and stir well. Add the essential oil slowly, drop by
drop, stirring well in between drops so that the essences are uniformly
distributed throughout the bath salts. Store the bath salts in air-tight
containers in a cool, dry place. Essential oils are volatile oils, so leave
about 1/2 an inch head space in glass containers to avoid pressure build-up.
You should omit the almond oil if you use your bath salts in a whirlpool bath or Jacuzi.
To use, add one handful (about a 1/4 cup) to running bath water. This recipe makes
enough for about 10 baths. For proportions for a single bath see, this recipe.
Try one of the many aromatic blends given
on this site, or use the list of essences to
make your own. If you are pregnant or nursing, consult your doctor or aromatherapist
before using any essential oils. Never take essential oils internally,
and avoid oils that are toxic or irritating to
the skin. For more information about aromatherapy, essential oils, suppliers for ingredients,
tarot cards and other interests of mine follow the links
to other sites. Enjoy!
