Rhonda returned to the doctor today.  She has lost a total of 20 lbs. in the 15 days since the surgery.  Dr. Husted said she is doing fine.  He is as pleased with her attitude as he is with the success of the surgery.
I returned to work yesterday so Teresa and Chris (Teresa's Husband) drove her.  I can not begin to thank these two enough.  They have stood beside us and been there whenever we needed them.
Neither of them were in favor of the surgery.  Teresa tried to talk Rhonda out of it up until the last minute.  When she realized that Rhonda was going through with it, she was there every step of the way.
"THANKS T"
Both Rhonda and I are amazed at how well everything has gone.  I don't want to paint a picture of roses and sunshine. But no part of this has been as bad as we had imagined.
Rhonda worried from the beginning about if the scar would change the way I looked at her sexually.  I have assured her that will not happen.  And now even the scar is looking better than she had imagined.
I can't believe that after only two weeks things are starting to return to the dreaded routine everyone always talks about.  Take it from us routine is not a bad thing.  You never know how much you miss something until it is gone.
Both of us consider ourselves very lucky things have gone as well as they have.
I guess every story has a downside.  This seems like a good time to mention she will still be on pureed for the next six weeks. Even that, though does't seem to dampen her spirit.  I am so proud of the way she has handled not only the operation, but giving up the food she loves.
That is enough for now.  Bottom line is everything is going well and I am starting to believe that she will be fine.
THANK GOD !!!
