Netball is an international sport, played by 2 teams of 7 players and based on throwing and catching. Traditionally it is played by woman but mixed and mens netball is becoming extremly popular. The Game is based on each team attempting to score as many goals as possible, whilst at the same time preventing the oposition from scoring. Goals are scored within a defined area, by throwing the ball into an open ended net attached to a 3.05 meter high post. The Raanana Netball club was founded by Jodi Carreira & Yonit Weil. |

Each position in Netball has a main role to play: Goal Shooter (GS) - To score goals and work in and around the circle Goal Attack (GA) - To feed and work with GS. Can score goals. Wing Attack (WA) - To feed the ball to the shooters. Centre (C) - To take the centre pass and link between the attack and defence Wing Defence (WD - To look for interceptions and keep the ball from WA Goal Defence (GD) - To defend GA and keep other team from scoring. Goal Keeper (Gk) - To work with GD and prevent the GS from scoaring. |
