Lessons at Spot O' Heaven |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Each rider at Spot O' Heaven must wear a helmet and a safety belt. Depending on the rider's skill level, they are accompanied by a leader and one or two sidewalkers. The leader's job is to pay attention to the horse, and the sidewalkers make sure that the rider is always safe.
A sidewalker gives encouragement to a young rider.
Our barn cat, Smoky, gives comfort as a rider makes friends with Rocky. Safety helmets must be worn regardless if the rider is actually on the horse or not.
Special stirrups that fit over the saddle horn help the smaller riders.
Lessons are held year round at Spot O' Heaven. When it is nice enough we hold the lessons outside.
