My name is Ervon G. Donahoo. My friends call me Don. I am an 80 year old American citizen and of American Indian decent. I am happily married to Felicia Grace Tomasino ... ( celebrating 59 years) and the father of 4 sons: William John, John Arthur, Stephen John and David John. I am a grandfather 8 times over (John Jr., Sean, Dawn, Stephen, Susan, Jessica, Brandon and Jason) and the great-father of James Arthur, (who is named after my father) and my newest great-grandson Tanner Garrett (born November 2, 2000 to my grandson John Jr. and his precious wife, Shannon). I am 3 times retired and presently enjoying my twilight years by filling my time learning the computer, gardening and square dancing. I am at peace with myself and my God. I'm about to embark on a journey that in my wildest imagination I never thought I would take. I'm going to journey back to my earliest memories and recount my life. In my eyes, it's an ordinary life, not unlike the lives of millions of people of my time. I'm not taking on this task for any personal reason as I consider myself to be a humble man and my history is my business. However, to my sons it appears to be a matter of great importance. It is at their request and in some cases their insistance that I will take this trip. I must pre-empt this story by stating that as I reflect back...I know it will be a difficult trip for me to take. I've never done anything half-assed in my life and in order to tell my story I must talk about the bad as well as the good. Anything less would mean my story will not flow. So, before I begin, to my sons I say once again "Be careful what you wish for." |
