~~THE POETRY OF KATHERINE E. RABENAU~~

UNTITLED

Remembering childhood days in the park
I wish sometimes
To have those moments back
Of trust
And smiling eyes
And no conscience

MIRRORS

Children cry for tomorrows answers
As you and I cried
Young once
Thinking answers existed
Now we cry for warmth
Or time
Or yesterday's questions
Now we cry for each other
Hands searching
Thirsty for the soft, sad comforts of flesh
Our quiet questions
Echoed in the mirror of another's loneliness.
