For so many of us this condition has become a debilitating and life changing event. Dealing with Fibromyalgia is an everday challenge for more than 6 millon Americans. An exhausting struggle waking from another night of disturbed sleep, suffering with the constant pain, fighting the intense fatique, the irritable bowel symptoms and more. Those who suffer with this condition know that even the most minor activities of daily living have become at best, difficult to perform. In addition, many sufferers are continually frustrated by the search for a Physician, that is not only knowledgeable about Fibromyalgia, but has the compassion and patience to understand their needs to explore all treatment options available. FibroFriends Fibromyalgia Support Group represents a group of sufferers who are proactive and seek to remain involved and informed. Our group works a Team to provide support to one another, exchange new ideas, share news and research updates. We participate in projects aimed at promoting and raising awareness. We want answers and we seek a cure. But we understand and realize that we are the catalyst to finding that cure. We are our own best advocates. Therefore, our objective as a fellowship is to invest our time, energy and what strength we have, to interact at both the medical and political levels, bringing attention to our cause, pushing for more research, and finding the answers we seek.
