    Our Goals

  • Helping each other become the individuals we envision ourselves to be after limb loss.
  • Bringing new and old amputees together in informational meetings, social gatherings and athletic events.
  • Developing a network of amputees throughout the Carolinas for social, emotional and practical needs.


    Upcoming Events

  • February 19th, when BJ Radcliffe, Nutrition Educator will have a cooking demonstration and we will all enjoy dinner. Please RSVP by email to Amputspt@yahoo.com if you plan on attending.
  • Further, email or phone if you are interesting in several advocacy topics we are working on. These include rights for the disabled and insurance issues (along with Medicare).

    Organization's History

    Formed July 1996 in conjunction with Carolinas Medical Center & Faith Prosthetic, the organization has worked to educate, inform,and have fun. Some Highlights of the Past Years include:

  • Running Clinics presented by Disabled Sports
  • Home Visits to recent amputees (by members who have completed Amputee Coalition Peer Visiting Seminar)
  • Bowling, Basketball, & Swimming Excursions
  • Went as a group to Charlotte Checkers Games
  • Informative speakers from prostheticians to doctors to Therapists
  • Dinners and Pot Luck Parties
