| 28 June 1999 Dear Diary, Well, I did it! I went to the gym and worked out! Granted, I only did 30 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the stair climber, but I did it! I always hate starting a work-out, and doing a work-out, but I do like the feeling when I'm finished with the work-out! Anyway, I just had to let you know, since I'm sure you didn't think I'd really do it! Well, I'd better get to bed! Until next time, I am very truly yours, Missy 28 June 1999 Dear Diary, Wow! I'm not doing very well at keeping this journal up, am I? I've never been good at this, and I guess putting it on the internet hasn't helped my journal-laziness! I haven't done anything with my Food or Work-Out Journals at all, and for that I apologize! I'll really try to be better! Now, to the dieting, which is the purpose of this whole thing to begin with. I did okay this month - lost 3 lbs. Not as much as I'd hoped, but at least I didn't gain anything! Gotta look on the bright side, right? I got really sick last Monday, and that really helped jump start my will power! I know it sounds wierd, but I haven't really had much of an appetite since then, and have almost completely lost my cravings for carbos. Well, sort-of! The cravings are still there, but I find I resist the temptation now! I don't know how long it will last, but at least I'll be able to get a good start and some good habits! Now to the workout (which will soon be on it's proper page soon, I promise!): just call me a naughty girl! I haven't been to the gym but twice this month! It's just so hard for me to go back once I've missed a time or two. It's really stupid, I know. Those people don't know me, and don't care if I'm there or not. So I don't know why I care so much! Maybe I'm paranoid. Oh, well! I'm GOING to the gym tonight! I swear! And, I'll put it in the Work-Out Journal when I get home. No, really, I will. Stop laughing! :-) Well, I'll talk to you later! Until then, I am, very truly yours, Missy 7 June 1999 Dear Diary, Well, I did pretty well this weekend! Of course, I usually find it easier to stick to my diet on the weekends, especially if I don't go anywhere! Did some gardening - bought some more yummy herbs: peppermint, which smells great, and some silver thyme, which, I hope, will do better than my English thyme, which is basically dead! Anyway, I had lots of salads and veggies this weekend, but did have to grill a tri-tip steak last night because it was just too nice not to! Oh, wait, I did have a bit too much wine this weekend, and red at that! Oops! Naughty girl, I know, but you just can't have a good steak without a little Zinfandel! I'm going to try something new this week: I'm going to try walking during part of my lunch break. Just downtown and back, which is about 20 minutes. Then I can still hit the gym after work, and do some ab work at home with my tapes. Sound good? I thought so! I'll let you know how it works. Until then, I am, very truely yours, Missy

Dear Diary,
Well, I’ve managed to put THIS off for some time, but I’m really going to start my program NOW - TODAY! I’m still at the same weight I admitted to on my Home Page - which, I guess is a good thing; at least I haven’t GAINED any weight! And, I hate to look back at the past two months at how much time I’ve lost, but, rather than give up on the whole thing, the best thing to do is to start with a clean slate - or in this case, a clean web site! - and begin now! It’s a good time to start: the first of the month! My goal for this month (June 99) is to lose 10 lbs., which shouldn’t be too hard, as most of it will be water weight. My plan right now, which I will put into more detail here, is to just go to the gym after work EVERY NIGHT, and just work out on whatever equipment is available, and stop snacking in the afternoons! With regards to the first part, I’ll probably spend most of my work-out on the treadmill, stair-stepper and stationary bike - aerobic activities which will burn off the fat - and some arm workouts. Beginning in July, I’ll add some lower body weight work, too. Hopefully, by the end of July, I’ll have a good routine set up, and hopefully, I’ll be so hooked on working out, I won’t want to stop! As far as the snacking goes, I’ll be trying the new AcuTrim Diet Gum to try to ebb my hunger and keep my jaw occupied. I’ll also be avoiding going to Rite Aid at noon where I’m more likely to pick up a bag of chips along with my bottle of SoBe Lean drink. Well, there it is. The “Great Plan”. I don’t know if it will work or not, but I’m hopeful! I have accepted the fact that I won’t be thin in time for this summer, but I WILL be ready for Swim Suit Season 2000! Just in time for the re-opening of Avila Beach! And, hey, it’s supposed to be a cooler than average year this year anyway due to La Nina, so even if I did get thin this summer, it’d be too cold to really enjoy it! :-) Until next time, I am very truly yours, Missy.
