The Hunter College Premed Club
is the organization of the premed students at Hunter College. We
are chartered yearly by the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and
offer resources and both physical and mental assistance to our fellow premed
students. Hunter College is a part of CUNY, the City University of
New York, and is located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan on 68 St.
and Lexington Ave.

Article I: Name of the organization.
The name of the organization is Hunter
PreMed Club.
Article II: Organization Purpose.
We are an academic club at Hunter dedicated to Premedical pre-professions.
Our main goal is the support and retention of pre-med students.
We support all academic efforts to increase our chances to get into
medical graduate school programs.
Our organization is also a forum to offer information on Health careers
to students who are interested in pursuing careers in any of the Health
Professions. We disseminate information through our medical activities
, events, and conferences. These events help to increase our understanding
of health profession careers available and also how our current health
system operates.
Article III: Membership.
Our club is open to any Hunter Undergraduate student. A member is defined
as any Hunter student who

is interested in the premedical courses .

is registered with the pre-professional office at Hunter and attend our
meetings on a regular basis.
Article IV: Officers.
Section A:
Our club will have the following officers:

President

Vice- President
-
Treasurer
-
Secretary.
Section B:
-
Our officers will be elected by the members for a year. Each member
will be given one vote.

At least 2/3 majority votes of the presented members are required to be
elected as an
officer.

Nominations will be accepted from the floor or from the executive
committee.
Section C:
Duties of the president:
-
Preside over the meetings of the club.
-
Supervise club activities.
-
Sign vouchers and expenditures of all expenses.
Duties of the vice-president:
-
Assist the President.
-
Serve as president in the absence of the president.
-
Assume the office of the president upon the resignation of the president.
Duties of the treasurer:
-
Keep track of all expenses and receipts.

Report to the club on all budgetary matters.

Prepare budgets for the club to presents to the USG.
Duties of the secretary:
-
Assist the president in club events.
-
Help in organizing club events.
Article V: Committees.
Our PreMed executive board will form committees as need arise.
Article VI: Meetings.
The club meetings will be held monthly. Dates and times
for any other special meetings are to be posted around the campus and outside
the Pre-Professional advisors office.
Article VII: Quorum.
The quorum for voting purposes will be considered - both officers
and ten members.
Article VIII: Amendments to our constitution.
Amendments shall be proposed at least one week prior to the
meeting at which it is to be considered. For constitutional amendments
it will be necessary to have a quorum and the amendments must be approved
by at least 75% of the total given vote in order to amend to the Pre-Med
club constitution.

The Premed Club has an extensive reference library
of basic sciences text books as well as premedical books and MCAT prep
materials. We will gladly accept donations of books from premed students
who already got accepted to medical school.
