George J. Kuhrts, III 1923-1995.
Real estate developer who in conjunction with Burnand and Di Giorgio family interests, planned and built the De Anza Country Club, Indian Head Ranch, Desert Lodge (now known as La Casa del Zorro), The Mall shopping center, Roadrunner Mobile Home Park, and Rams Hill Resort.
In addition to these numerous accomplishments, Kuhrts also served as president of Borrego Water Company for many years, launched Borrego's first commuter airline (SunAire Lines which was acquired by Delta/Skywest) and was a major contributor to the health and well-being of Borrego valley through his participation on the Burnand Medical and Educational Foundation as well as the Borrego Community Health Foundation which operates Borrego's only medical center and clinic.
His 72 years on this earth inspired all who knew him.
