We have had another nice year with lots of travel and family get-togethers. In May, Beth and her daughter, Heather, Francie and I surprised Mom on Mother’s Day/her birthday by flying down to Florida for a visit. We all spent a few nights on the beach and just enjoyed talking, walking, and eating.
Hal and I took a wonderful trip to Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks in June. We flew to Billings, then rented a car and spent a week at Many Glacier Hotel (hiking by day and sitting around a giant fireplace the rest of the time). We drove to Yellowstone and stayed in 3 different lodges there as we drove our way through the park. One of the highlights of the trip was the drive on Bear Tooth Pass as we headed out of Yellowstone back to Billings.
We were home to regroup for a week, and then headed to Green Lake, Wisconsin for a family week with my parents and sisters. Mom and Dad spent the month of July there, and all of us were able to spend a week together. The cottages were on the lake, so boating and swimming were part of the fun. Hal and I also visited Mom and Dad in Florida a few times last year, and will be there again this Christmas.
Eric and Heather and Koy hosted Thanksgiving for the Hendrich family this year. Eric is now in accounting and Heather is a principal at an elementary school. Angie and Vince are hosting Christmas for Hal, Ben, and me this year. Angie works as a nurse at Methodist Hospital in Indy, and Vince works hard at being the best dog ever. Nicole and Blair were out for a visit in October. Blair works with computers and Nicole works for the government, and they both enjoy living in Denver. Ben moved from Florida to Indy in May, and works for a small hotel in sales/asst. manager. It’s nice to have him closer so we can see him more often.
Work for us both is fine. I’m still teaching computer applications to high school and post high-school students. Hal is teaching 3rd grade, and busy looking after his Dad.
