1. To achieve a 100% helmet - wearing rate among motorcyclists

2. To encourage the use of helmets among cyclists and in recreational / occupational activities which can result in head injuries

3. To develop and improve standards of all types of helmets

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

1. To determine a pattern of motorcycle helmet use in different parts of Malaysia

2. To implement community - based programs to encourage proper use of motorcycle helmets and bicycle helmets

3. To evaluate helmet programs in terms of outcome and impact indicators

4. To study current standards of motorcycle helmets and help develop bicycle helmet standards
